Job summary

Love & Care Family Clinic in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Biller & Coder to join our in‑person billing team. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of medical billing and coding experience, and can navigate Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims.

You will ensure accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding, verify insurance benefits, and follow up on denials while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional medical billing and coding experience.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (Required).
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with insurance claims, payment posting, denials, and appeals.

Responsibilities

• Review, assign, and submit accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Process and submit medical claims to commercial insurance companies and government payers.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims and resolve billing issues.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and process insurance payments and adjustments.
• Submit corrected claims, appeals, and reconsiderations as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation.
• Communicate with insurance representatives and patients regarding billing questions.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and applicable billing guidelines.
