Job Opportunity: Medical Assistant at WellMed

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures
  • Maintain quality control standards
  • Accurately record and process patient care documentation in EMR
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and policies
  • Organize, stock, and clean exam and treatment rooms; sterilize instruments
  • Maintain required certifications and standards

The role requires managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, flexibility to work at multiple locations, and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current, recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration, or ability to obtain within 180 days
  • CPR/BLS certification or ability to attain within 30 days
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Must pass Tuberculosis screening and provide proof of immunity or vaccination for various diseases
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ICD-9/10 and CPT coding
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $28.85, depending on experience and qualifications.
