Job summary

VIPCARE in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the direction of a physician or APRN. You will prep patients, assist with examinations, and help coordinate care in a value-based care model that prioritizes quality outcomes.

The role requires a high school diploma, Spanish bilingual skills, EMR experience, and CPR/BLS certification. Prior MA experience and IV/Phlebotomy credentials are a plus. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within guidelines.
• IV Therapy certification preferred where state regulations permit.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical office procedures.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations with history and vital signs.
• Measure, document, and report vital signs and clinical observations.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during exams.
• Administer medications and perform CLIA-waived lab testing as directed.
• Document encounters and coordinate care through EMR.
• Handle front-office tasks: scheduling, registration, referrals, and calls.
• Maintain inventory and support onboarding of new staff.
