Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists (SMS) is part of OneOncology, delivering community-based specialty care across Florida. We seek a Medical Assistant to stay with the physician during exams, assist with consultations and follow-ups, schedule studies, and document medications, patient vitals, and follow-up weights in the chart.

The candidate should have 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience, be bilingual in English/Spanish, and maintain professionalism, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail, good oral and written communications skills.
• Must work well with multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Maintain licenses and/or certifications as applicable.
• 1-3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Remain with physician at all times in the exam room unless asked to step out or scheduled for a study.
• Assist the doctor in patient consultations and weekly status checks; routine follow-up examinations; any emergency visits as needed.
• Schedule and follow-up on all diagnostic studies, ensure documentation and physician signature on results.
