Job summary

CLS Health in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support a multispecialty practice. You will room patients, collect vitals, update medical histories, and assist physicians with wound care and procedures.

The role requires bilingual capabilities, chart preparation, benefits verification, and travel to other CLS Health locations. Prior medical office or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
• Willing to travel to other CLS Health locations.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooming the patient.
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepare patient charts a week in advance and verify benefits reports.
• Scan documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Keep rooms stocked and clean before/after patients and end of day.
• Refill patient medications and obtain pre-authorization/determination.
• Ensure physician is in-network and referrals are up-to-date.
• Assist physician in exam room with wound care and procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document conversations.
