Job summary

Urban Health Plan is hiring Medical Assistants for the Internal Medicine-Adult Medicine department. You will support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other providers while contributing to patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities.

The role is on-site at our Bronx Community Health Center with daytime shifts and rotating Saturdays. We seek candidates with a High School Diploma and MA certificate, 1–2 years of healthcare experience, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and Medical Assistant certificate.
• 1-2 years of related healthcare experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Proficiency with computers and software is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination rooms, stocks inventory, and sterilizes instruments.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
• Assists providers during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Registers and verifies patient demographics.
• Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.
