Job summary

Health by Design in Edinburg, Texas, seeks a BILINGUAL (Spanish) Medical Assistant for front and back office duties at a new outpatient Family Medicine Clinic opening Fall 2026.

The role includes lab draws and phlebotomy, with shift hours Mon, Wed, Fri 7:00am-5:00pm and Tue/Thu 8:00am-6:00pm. CPR/BLS required; experience with phlebotomy is essential. Benefits include health, dental, vision, telehealth and PTO.

Qualifications

• One year certificate (CMA or CNA) from college or accredited technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR / BLS
• Prior Phlebotomy experience is required

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and other lab tests.
• Coordinate with patients regarding follow-up test results, medication refills, and referrals.
• Assist Registered Nurse/Team Lead as needed to maintain a functional clinic.
• Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and schedule referrals.
• Check medical records for test results and assigns and faxes as appropriate.
• Scan documents as necessary.
• Keeps equipment and instruments clean and sterilized.
• Report to RN and MD when needed.
