The Lakes Home Care, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations within its Florida home health agency. You will assist nurses, therapists, and physicians to ensure quality patient care and compliant documentation.

Bilingual English and Spanish is required or strongly preferred, with a focus on professionalism, organization, and clear communication in a fast-paced home health environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA preferred).
• Bilingual: English & Spanish (required or strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and home health processes (preferred).
• Experience with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, LPNs, and therapists with patient coordination
• Take and record vital signs when permitted
• Prepare patients for skilled visits and procedures
• Perform basic clinical tasks within Florida scope of practice
• Maintain infection control and safety standards
• Ensure medical supplies are stocked and organized
• Support patient education as directed by clinical staff
• Schedule patient visits and coordinate clinician calendars
• Verify insurance, authorizations, and eligibility (Medicare / Medicaid / Managed Care)
• Maintain accurate Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Assist with intake, consents, and patient documentation
• Communicate with physicians' offices for orders and signatures
• Handle phone calls professionally with patients, families, and providers
• Support compliance with HIPAA, AHCA, and Medicare guidelines
