Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a Medical Assistant FLOAT to support ambulatory care in the Float Department. The position requires assisting physicians and APPs, gathering patient data, and preparing patients for examinations at the Main Office in Land O' Lakes, FL.

Bilingual skills are highly preferred. Education includes a high school diploma and MA training; certification in MA and BLS is required or obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) required
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and relevant MA certifications within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assist patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department policies.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders into the EMR under the direction of a provider
• Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
