Job summary

Qualifications

• MA certification from an accredited school; clinical education or experience may substitute.
• CPR certification current within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical experience in a designated specialty preferred.
• Ability to follow written instructions and perform basic math; ability to stand, walk, bend and lift.
• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIA, HIPAA, general office tasks and filing systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a physician.
• Documents care in the patient medical record per Practice policies.
• Collects and documents biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, medications, allergies and environmental information.
• Records vital signs, height/weight and chief complaint; ensures timely and accurate data.
• Provides general patient care; assists with examinations and treatments; calls in prescriptions.
• Takes patient calls, triages appointments and stocks rooms.
• All care is performed under physician direction and documented in the medical record.
• Assists physicians in meeting patient/family learning needs; maintains communication with healthcare team.
