Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant for their Florida Palm Beach Gastroenterology team. The role involves ensuring excellent patient care by preparing patients for examinations, giving injections, and assisting in various medical procedures. Candidates should have a relevant medical assisting qualification, at least one year of experience in a clinical setting, and fluency in Spanish preferred. Qualifications

• Possess a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs.
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians.

Skills

Knowledge of different portals to get authorization

Fluency in Spanish

1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting

Experience using an EHR system

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow‑up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners

You Should Have:

• Knowledge of different portals to get authorization
• Ability to speak Spanish fluently
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred
• Experience using an EHR system very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program
• Back Office Training Program (BOTP) required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) helpful
• Ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
