Position Summary

The Lead Clinician at La Jornada oversees the Program’s clinical services, trains and supervises clinical staff and provides clinical supervision to the clinical team. The Lead Clinician provides case consultation and support to a multi-disciplinary team on behalf of the minors assigned to the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Clinician will perform duties include, but not limited to:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies;
  • Ensure that behavioral health specialists complete relevant training on evidence-based practices in mental and behavioral health care delivery.
  • Ensure that child-facing services are provided on-site and in a confidential manner.
  • Oversee clinical and/or counseling services delivery for unaccompanied alien children (UAC) and provide oversight for the unaccompanied child’s mental and emotional health;
  • Provide supervision,guidanceand consultation to assigned clinicians, perform caseassignmentsand occasionallymaintaina limitedcaseload;
  • Ensure clinical assessments are completed within allotted ORRtimeframes;
  • Complete weekly audit of clinicians’ documentation, ensuring both ORR and CQI compliance;
  • Support or activelyparticipatein the delivery of orientations for children incare;
  • Attend and provide clinician related trainings, including sexual abuse, sexual harassment and inappropriate sexual behavior, prevention of sexual abuse and Interim Final Rule (IFR)trainings;
  • Coordinate clinical and family reunification services for children, including active involvement in dischargeplanning;
  • Activelyparticipatein documenting safety plans and Post 18 age outplans;
  • Oversee and/ or activelyparticipatein the process of reportingChild Level Events (CLEs)in accordance withexisting policies and procedures,
  • Ensure maintenance of UC electronic and physical files, including uploading documents in UC Portal,Evolv, andmaintainingthe corresponding physical file;
  • Travel as needed, to provide and support the provision of services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatoryrequirements;
  • Establish andmaintaina strong relationship with assigned foster parents, including ongoing contact with foster parents andassistingduring emergency/ crisissituations;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s or doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, oranotherrelevant behavioral health disciplinefromanaccredited program, university, or college where clinical experience is a program requirement.
  • Must be licensed to provide clinical servicesin the state where the care provider islocated.
  • Two (2) years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience.
  • Musthave supervisoryexperience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, faxmachinesand photocopiers as well as software including word processing,spreadsheetand database programs.
  • Minimumautomobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
  • 21 years of age,a validstate driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, anda good drivingrecord.
