Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required; alternative to that is 48 college credits or completion of two years of study with qualifying assessments.
• Parapro Assessment and WorkKeys performance may be used to verify readiness to assist classroom teachers.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Help students master equipment and instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with behavioral modification programs, keeping logs and data daily/weekly.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Assist with mobility, personal care, meals, snack and cleanup routines.
• Assist with morning routines and bus arrival, breakfast and lunch processes.
• Support with wash-ups, toilets, diapering and tooth brushing as needed.
