Bilingual Japanese Tax Senior (Remote)

Join our highly profitable regional CPA firm specializing in international tax services for Japanese clients. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for individuals residing in the PST or MST time zones who possess excellent tax expertise and a desire for significant career advancement. With a strong focus on collaboration, professional development, and direct client interaction, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach and impact within the tax consultancy market.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Federal and multi-state tax returns for varying entities such as C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, bankruptcies, and trusts and estates.
  • Handle complex accounting and tax issues to ensure optimal client service and compliance.
  • Conduct both basic and complex tax research to support client needs and internal knowledge development.
  • Develop and maintain strategic client relationships, ensuring long-term engagement and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning and consulting to enhance client value and service delivery.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Tax, or Business Administration required.
  • At least 2 years of tax experience, preferably with a public accounting firm.
  • CPA license obtained or actively being pursued.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with robust communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Self-directed with an entrepreneurial work ethic and the capability to manage workflow independently.
  • Proven ability to comprehend complex tax and accounting issues and meet important deadlines.
  • Demonstrated advanced competency in technical skills and work quality.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without needing sponsorship at any point in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling tax matters for international clients, especially Japanese corporations and expatriates.
  • Advanced proficiency in tax software and tools relevant to tax preparation and research.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, demonstrating excellent relationship building and management skills.

Skills:

  • Fluency in Japanese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proficient in using tax preparation software like CCH Axcess, GoSystem, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills capable of dealing with complex tax scenarios and providing actionable advice.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Robust problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for identifying and addressing issues before they escalate.
