Tutor Me Education LLC is seeking passionate tutors to provide in-home, one-on-one tutoring in San Carlos, CA. The role focuses on students with special needs, delivering tailored curriculum aligned with IEP goals and supporting language, literacy, and foundational math through interactive methods.

Ideal candidates are bilingual (Japanese/English) with ASD tutoring experience, strong literacy background, and a patient, engaging approach. Flexible schedule and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Japanese and English required.
• Experience tutoring or supporting elementary-age students with ASD.
• Experience working with students with speech delays and/or limited English proficiency.
• Strong background in foundational literacy, phonics, sight words, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and early writing.
• Comfortable supporting early elementary-level math skills.
• Able to provide language and communication support for a student who primarily understands Japanese.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized academic and language support across ELA, communication, and foundational math.
• Teach phonics, letter-sound relationships, sight words, decoding, and early reading skills.
• Support reading comprehension and vocabulary development through leveled and engaging texts.
• Develop early writing skills, including handwriting, sentence formation, and written expression.
• Provide foundational math instruction appropriate to the student's current instructional level.
• Use Japanese to support comprehension, clarify instructions, and reinforce academic concepts when needed.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's needs.
• Incorporate student interests (e.g., Minecraft, LEGO) to increase engagement.
