Job description

We are seeking an experienced and bilingual Restaurant Planning & Operations Manager to oversee strategic and operational initiatives across several up-scale restaurants located in San Francisco and New York. This is a hands-on management role that requires deep knowledge of the hospitality industry, strong leadership skills, and fluency in both Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and business planning for multiple restaurant locations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and brand consistency.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop new concepts, seasonal promotions, and long-term strategic growth plans.

  • Manage P&L, budgeting, vendor relationships, and operational workflows for each restaurant.

  • Lead, train, and support on-site managers and staff to maintain high levels of service and team performance.

  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and corporate standards.

  • Serve as a liaison between Japanese-speaking stakeholders and local teams, facilitating smooth communication and project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably with exposure to multi-location operations.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Native or business-level fluency in Japanese is required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Japanese cuisine, food culture, and service expectations is a strong plus.
