Affordable Language Services in Maine is seeking fluent bilingual interpreters to provide in-person interpreting services as independent contractors for appointments across healthcare, education, legal, and community settings.

Requirements include fluency in English plus another language, a language assessment if not trained, U.S. work authorization, a high school diploma, and successful background check and drug screening. Primarily in-person appointments in Maine.

Language Partners (Powered by Lango) is looking for fluent bilinguals located in Maine to provide in-person interpreting services in a variety of settings. Requirements

Must be fluent in English and at least one other language

If you lack formal interpreter training, you’ll be required to pass a language assessment

Must have valid U.S. work authorization (I-9 eligibility)

High school diploma or equivalent required

Willing and able to complete a background check and drug screening

Primarily available for in-person appointments in Maine

Prior interpreting experience or training is a plus, but not required

This is independent contractor work (1099 status). Contractors are responsible for obtaining and providing required documents such as drug screens, background checks, and medical records.

We are always looking for interpreters for all languages.
