Job summary

Church of Jesus Christ is seeking interpreters at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT. The role supports missionaries by interpreting for numerous meetings and translating projects as assigned by the manager, with opportunities to join team trainings and contribute to a collaborative environment within the MTC.

The position requires strong language skills, Gospel terminology knowledge, and comfort with routine duties in a dynamic training setting.

Qualifications

1 year of experience speaking a second language.
Native or near-native command of English and a second language, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and social context.
Well-developed interpretation skills.
High level of understanding gospel terminology and usage, including “Preach My Gospel”.
There may be physical requirements such as sitting for long periods and using monitors/equipment.

Responsibilities

Interprets for up to 25+ different meetings that missionaries experience throughout the duration of their stay at the MTC.
Translates for assigned projects as determined by manager.
Participates in team training meetings.
Supports an effort to build and maintain an environment of increased harmony, trust, and good will within the department and the MTC.
Other additional responsibilities as assigned by the Interpretation Coordinator.
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
