Job summary

Jobtailor in Los Angeles seeks an experienced bilingual interpreter/translator to support internal communications, marketing, and executive assistance. You will translate materials between Japanese and English, manage multilingual social content, and provide cultural guidance across teams.

Responsibilities include real-time interpretation for Business Development, PR, and Social Media; glossary development; and confidential executive support in non-business settings.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese and English.
• Experience in interpretation and translation, preferably in entertainment or marketing.
• Degree in Translation, Interpretation, Communications, or related field.
• Knowledge of the film and anime industries.
• Excellent written and spoken bilingual communication.
• Deep understanding of cultural differences between Japan and the United States.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with translation support tools.
• Experience in marketing, PR, and social media management is a plus.
• Experience operating major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation for internal communications across Business Development, PR, and Social Media Marketing divisions
• Translate Japanese client materials into English for internal teams
• Translate English internal documents into Japanese
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in translated materials
• Develop and maintain glossary of industry-specific terms
• Manage social media accounts for public relations activities
• Plan, create, schedule, translate, and optimize multilingual social media content
• Engage with followers and handle comments and messages
• Provide comprehensive English communication support for the CEO and COO in daily life in Los Angeles
• Assist executives with verbal and written communications in non-business settings, including healthcare, real estate, and local services
• Provide cultural guidance on local customs and practices
• Accompany executives to personal appointments when language assistance is required
• Maintain confidentiality regarding executives’ personal affairs
• Adapt marketing strategies for different cultural contexts
