Job summary

Tierra Encantada in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Teacher for our Infant classroom. You will share a classroom with another teacher and help deliver play-based, language immersion education for children 6 weeks to 6 years.

This is a full-time, nonexempt position, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with pay between $20.00 and $22.50 per hour depending on education and experience. You must be fluent in Spanish and English, be 19+, and have at least 1 year of Early Childhood Education experience.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Must be 19 years or older.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Early Childhood Education.
• Minnesota teacher qualification per MN Admin Rule 9503.0032.
• Ability to complete required licensing training on hire.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Excellent communication with families and coworkers.
• Annual training to ensure high quality care.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun, welcoming environment for children.
• Develop daily activities aligning with curriculum for learning.
• Manage classroom operations, schedules, and cleanliness.
• Assess each child’s development through observations.
• Implement Tierra Encantada curriculum and lesson plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and leadership for parent conferences.
• Maintain seasonal classroom décor.
• Provide updates to families during pickup/drop-off.
• Maintain teamwork with staff and administration.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Complete required training (24 hours/year) for accreditation.
• Other duties as assigned.
