Job summary

Immigration Law Office of Moises L. Barraza, LLC in the Chicago area is seeking a bilingual Spanish-English Immigration Litigation Attorney to join our growing team on a hybrid basis.

You will appear in court, handle EOIR hearings, USCIS interviews, and prepare motions and briefs, collaborating with the supervising attorney. We value zeal for advocacy and client-centered representation, with flexible scheduling and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Active law license in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Immigration litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Appear in person for EOIR Individual Hearings, Master Calendar Hearings, and other immigration court proceedings in the Chicago area.
• Represent clients at USCIS interviews and related immigration appointments.
• Meet with clients in person at our Aurora office as needed.
• Attend and participate in Webex hearings from the office as needed.
• Prepare and litigate motions, legal briefs, pre-hearing statements, applications for relief, and supporting evidentiary filings.
• Develop case strategy with the supervising attorney and legal team.
• Preserve legal and factual issues for appeal through clear, thorough advocacy and record development.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex immigration issues.
• Communicate compassionately and clearly with clients, witnesses, and staff.
• Coordinate with remote legal assistants and paralegals to ensure filings are accurate and timely.
