Job summary

Gads Hill Center in Chicago, IL seeks an Early Head Start Home Visitor to plan and implement educational activities for families with children birth to three. The home visitor delivers services in the home and in socialization settings, modeling positive behaviors and empowering parents as the first teachers of their children.

Qualifications

• Minimum CDA required or equivalent coursework toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Gateway Family Specialist Credential level 3 (minimum)

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements educational plans using the Creative Curriculum and Parents as Teachers.
• conducts weekly in-home visits of at least 90 minutes and bi-monthly group activities.
• Assist parents in developing parenting skills; empower them as primary educators.
• Conducts health checks and documents findings.
• Facilitates Parent Committee meetings and engagement.
• Uses assessment tools to monitor child development and documents progress.
• Connects families with community resources with Family Support staff.
• Assist with recruitment of children for the program.
