Job summary

Gang Alternative Inc in Florida City, FL is seeking a part-time GPS Instructor to support the GPS program, assist the Site Coordinator, and provide direct instruction and supervision for children served. This role emphasizes logistical coordination and program-related communication.

You will engage in session outreach, resource development, and linking clients to support services as directed by the Site Coordinator, while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability in Creole or Spanish is required.
• Preferred A.A. or degree in Education; high school graduate acceptable.
• Available to work the program hours as scheduled.
• Reliable transportation and a personal cell phone are necessary.
• Experience with children in K-8th is preferred.
• Must pass a fingerprint background check.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must obtain Florida Child Care Professional Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Direct instruction of children in reading, social skills, PE or arts.
• Assess students with pre-, mid-, post-tests in the specialty area.
• Create a positive learning environment for children.
• Assist with homework completion and attendance.
• Engage with children independently and creatively.
• Provide daily snacks and ensure nutrition needs are met.
• Follow the daily activity schedule from Site Supervisor.
• Model hygiene and encourage cleanliness before meals.
• Engage parents; invite participation in activities and events.
• Maintain a safe, clean area for children.
• Attend trainings outside program hours to improve skills.
• Assist with computer lab use and educational activities.
• Participate in agency meetings and trainings as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
