Job summary

Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant for seasonal full-time coverage. You will triage pediatric patients, obtain accurate histories and vital signs, assist providers, administer vaccines, and perform CLIA-waived testing.

The role requires a high school diploma, Medical Assistant training/certification, BLS, and English/Spanish bilingual abilities, with a focus on patient safety and compassionate care in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant education, certification, or equivalent clinical training.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong understanding of patient safety and infection control.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced pediatric clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage pediatric patients and obtain accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments while helping children feel comfortable.
• Administer medications and vaccines according to safety protocols.
• Perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing and QC checks.
• Document patient care accurately and in real time.
• Complete and close patient charts by end of shift.
• Support efficient patient flow during high-volume periods.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and clinical team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.

What We Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant education, certification, military medical experience, or other qualifying clinical training

• Strong understanding of patient safety, clinical standards, and infection control
• Strong communicationand organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric clinical environment
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and rotating shifts
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to successfully complete a background check

When We Operate

Clinic Hours:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Flexible availability based on clinic needs
• Opportunity to travel to other Little Spurs clinics as needed
