Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from MOA or healthcare admin training with 1 year experience, or high school diploma with 1 year healthcare secretarial experience
• Some knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficiency with computer and office machines in a healthcare setting
• Ability to maintain accurate patient records in an EHR
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently with good judgment

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service
• Answer phones, route calls and create patient cases as needed
• Return patient messages promptly via voice or email
• Schedule and manage appointments in the EHR
• Maintain provider schedules and follow up on no-shows
• Document demographic and insurance information in the EHR
• Verify insurance eligibility and educate patients on sliding fee scale
• Assist with billing and claims processing as needed
• Keep reception area clean and presentable
• Collaborate with care team and participate in daily huddles
