Qualifications

Our client helps fintechs, marketplaces, and payment companies verify and onboard customers worldwide. The company is building AI-powered compliance agents designed to transform KYB, AML, sanctions screening, and risk scoring—helping customers onboard faster, reduce manual reviews, and prevent financial crime.

Seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate for this position

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. You'll work directly with the company's largest and most strategic customers to understand their compliance challenges, build custom integrations, and deliver solutions that make the platform indispensable.

Rather than waiting for tickets, you'll work directly with customers to scope problems, write code, and deploy solutions—sometimes all within the same day.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving real problems for real people and want their work to have visible, immediate impact.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with key customers to understand their onboarding, KYB, and compliance workflows.
• Translate customer pain points into technical solutions, including custom integrations, new API endpoints, and workflow improvements.

Build & Ship Quickly

• Design and deploy customer-specific configurations, integrations with third-party compliance and identity vendors, and custom data pipelines.
• Own the full lifecycle of solutions, from initial scoping through production.
• Bring customer insights back to the core product team.
• Identify patterns across customer needs that could become platform features.
• Help shape the roadmap based on what you're seeing in the field.

Solve Technical Problems Under Pressure

• Debug production issues in real time.
• Troubleshoot complex vendor integrations across 80+ providers.
• Become a trusted technical resource for customers when things need to get working.

Scale What Works

• Turn one-off solutions into reusable patterns.
• Build internal tooling, documentation, and runbooks that make future deployments faster and more efficient.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems. You've written code that real users depend on.
• Strong backend fundamentals with proficiency in at least one modern language: Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Customer-facing comfort. You can hold your own in a conversation with a VP of Compliance at a fintech. You listen well, communicate clearly, and can translate business requirements into technical solutions—and vice versa.
• Spanish fluency required. You can read and write in Spanish to directly support the Spanish-speaking customer base.
• Bias toward action. You're comfortable working without perfect specifications, scoping problems, building solutions, iterating, and taking ownership in ambiguous environments.
• Cloud experience with hands-on experience in AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and modern deployment practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, regtech, payments, or fraud/risk detection
• Familiarity with compliance workflows, including KYC/KYB, AML, and sanctions screening
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs at scale
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript for internal tools or customer-facing dashboards
• Experience working with ML/AI systems or data-intensive applications
