Job summary

Daiso USA is seeking an industry expert, bilingual in Japanese and English, to lead the non‑perishable food category as a Food Category Manager. You will drive top line revenue, margin, turns, and inventory fill‑rate while collaborating with APAC stakeholders and US teams.

Responsibilities include market research, auto-ship planning, forecasting, and vendor relations to optimize inventory and promotions across two distribution centers.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Japanese is required.
• Education: high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to analyze trends, consumer behavior and the competitive landscape.
• Develop auto-ship plans for stores based on sales potential.
• Forecast and manage orders to meet COGS targets and maintain order files.
• Determine item quantities for new items and promotions.
• Collaborate with vendors to achieve 95% fill rates and monitor expiration dates.
• Negotiate terms, rebates and promotional opportunities with suppliers.
• Register new items with pricing, classification and images.
• Optimize inventory levels and monitor DOH and margins.
• Coordinate closely with supply chain for timely delivery to two DCs.
• Work with vendors on marketing and promotions to boost sales.
• Perform reporting and additional tasks as needed.
