Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Family Support Specialist in Kingston, NY, to optimize home environments for the well-being of children and families. The role involves home visits, collaboration with a supervisor, and engagement with community resources.

Prospective staff should be able to build trusting relationships, demonstrate compassion, and coordinate with doctors, social services, and schools. A hybrid schedule after probation and union benefits are available, with training opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related fields preferred.
• Experience with or services to children and families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a trusting relationship with families and maintains regular client contact, adapting to schedules.
• Provides transportation to visits with mileage reimbursement and uses a personal vehicle as needed.
• Develops case plans with goals, objectives and activities with supervisors and families.
• Assists parents with appointments and acts as liaison with community agencies.
• Familiarizes self with community resources and how to access services.
