Job summary

Felton Institute’s Early Psychosis Division seeks a Bilingual Family Support Specialist to partner with families in recovery, sharing lived experience to support loved ones with mental health needs. The role involves outreach across schools, job sites, and community locations, working with the treatment team under the Clinical Program Manager.

Requirements include caregiver experience, MediCal Peer Support Specialist Certification, and bilingual abilities in Spanish or threshold Asian languages.

Qualifications

• Personal experience as a caregiver of a youth/young adult with emotional or behavioral needs.
• MediCal Peer Support Specialist Certification required.
• High School diploma AND one year of experience with mental health issues and/or families.
• Bilingual/Bicultural and fluent in Spanish or threshold Asian languages required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual support to families to decrease barriers to treatment and help families in providing effective support to loved ones through increasing communication skills, building networks of support, and addressing grief, stigma, and hopelessness.
