Job summary

Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) is hiring a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Family Peer Support Specialist to serve Baltimore City families dealing with substance use challenges. The role emphasizes a parent or caregiver perspective, education, advocacy, and crisis follow-up.

After training, the FPSS will provide family-to-family support, coaching, referrals and follow-up, residing in Baltimore City or County.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Personal lived experience as a primary caregiver.
• Residency within Baltimore City or Baltimore County.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college experience preferred.
• Familiarity with state and local resources.
• Public speaking and outreach experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to families navigating behavioral health systems.
• Offer strengths-based, non-judgmental assistance to families.
• Educate families about resources and rights.
• Advocate for families with key stakeholders.
• Represent MCF on committees as assigned.
