Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Intact Family Services Child Welfare Specialist in Illinois. The role provides full casework services to ensure safety and wellbeing of children by assisting families to meet parenting standards, in compliance with state standards and program plans.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, at least 1 year of experience, fluent Spanish, appropriate licenses, and demonstrated ability to motivate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field is required.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience required.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking Spanish required.
• State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
• CWEL or ability to obtain.
• CERAP required.
• Training in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO or availability to participate.
• CCS Bootcamp and Aftercare Planning Training completed or in training.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit all required reports, documentation and billing accurately and timely.
• Participate in supervisory process for guidance and approval of decision making, assessment and planning.
• Coordinate with schools, service providers, and healthcare facilities to promote child well-being.
• Assess family service needs and provide linkage to community resources.
• Ensure child safety and well-being during service delivery.
• Provide strength-based case management to resolve challenges and risks to children.
• Advocacy with medical or governmental institutions.
