Job summary

Connect Staffing is seeking an experienced Expeditor / Production Planner for a manufacturing environment in East Houston. The role focuses on coordinating outsourced machining work, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring on-time delivery.

You will work with Machining Operations to monitor schedules, maintain records, and prevent delays, using ERP and Excel for tracking and reporting. This is a hands-on, on-site position requiring strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of office experience, preferably in manufacturing, purchasing, expediting, or production control environment.
• Fluent in English and Spanish – REQUIRED; professional communication in both languages.
• Hands-on experience using an ERP system – REQUIRED; QAD experience is a strong plus.
• Experience coordinating with outside vendors, tracking purchase orders, and managing delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of outsourced machining work orders from release through receipt of finished parts.
• Coordinate with outside machining vendors on production schedules, order status, pickup arrangements, and deadlines.
• Assign work orders to vendors and maintain accurate routing information.
• Proactively follow up with vendors to identify delays and prevent missed deadlines.
• Maintain detailed records of open orders, vendor commitments, delivery dates, and order status.
• Communicate delays and scheduling changes to internal departments and management.
• Monitor vendor delivery performance and coordinate quality concerns, rework, and returns.
• Enter and track manufacturing work orders in an ERP system.
• Create and process purchase orders for outsourced machining services.
• Verify purchasing information, costs, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
