Capitol Region Education Council in Connecticut seeks a Certified Bilingual Teacher (Spanish) for the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary. The teacher will guide English Language Learners toward gaining proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, providing instruction in English and Spanish and supporting core content teachers.

Qualifications

• State of CT Bilingual Certification with Spanish proficiency.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Familiar with the Common Core State Standards.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to keep concise records.
• Sensitivity to the developmental stages of children.

Responsabilités

• Guide English Language Learners toward gaining knowledge in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Provide individual and small group instruction in English and Spanish, support core content area teachers, monitor student progress.
• Administer federal assessments as necessary (LAS Links).
• Identify ELL/Bilingual students and coordinate with families and staff.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional support for English Learners.
