Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to assist in classrooms, support instructional programs, and help manage behavior under the supervision of a certified teacher and principal. Responsibilities include working with individuals or small groups, assisting with ESL inclusion, preparing instructional materials, maintaining records, and serving as an interpreter when needed.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate; 187-day

Qualifications

• Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises.
• Assist teachers in providing modified instruction for ESL students in inclusive settings.
• Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
• Assist in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Serve as an interpreter in situations when one is needed.
• Any other duties as assigned by Campus Principal.
