Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and students in a busy school setting. You will assist with instructional activities, ESL support, supervision, and material preparation. A High School Diploma or GED and Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate are required.

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred in some settings. The position involves a 187-day work year, with duties including records, inventory, and coordinating with substitute teachers.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups on instructional exercises.
• Assist teachers with ESL students in inclusive settings.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests or assignments.
• Supervise students during the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain records and prepare required reports.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Support substitute teachers and staff as needed.
