Position Overview:

We are seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Dangerous Goods Instructor who is detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and highly skilled. This role involves creating, editing, and delivering training curricula in both languages, conducting audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Extensive experience in the dangerous goods industry and willingness to travel are required. CBTA Certifications are preferred. The candidate will collaborate with instructors, the administrative team, and the President to provide excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bilingual Training & Instruction: Deliver high-quality dangerous goods transportation training in accordance with 49 CFR and international regulations, in both English and Spanish.
  2. Curriculum Development: Create and update training materials, ensuring safety standards are met.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Provide consultation to shippers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
  4. Audit & Assessment: Conduct procedures audits and recommend cost-effective compliance solutions.
  5. Travel & Customer Interaction: Potentially travel up to 25% for on-site training, audits, and client support.
  6. Collaboration & Reporting: Work with team members to maintain high instruction standards and accurate record-keeping.
  7. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
  8. Creativity & Innovation: Research and implement creative training methods.

Qualifications:

Certifications/Education:

  • Completion of ATP Training’s CBTA Accredited Dangerous Goods Training (Non-Radioactive and Radioactive).

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in dangerous goods handling or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international transportation regulations.
  • Experience conducting audits and providing regulatory advice.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong instructional skills with adaptability.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and video conferencing tools.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Pass background check and drug test.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends/overtime.

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Travel to client locations.
  • Remote work with some physical presence at training sessions.
  • Operate office and training equipment.
