Community Academies of New Orleans is seeking an Emergent Bilingual Instructor to evaluate, instruct, and enhance English proficiency among students served by CANO. The role emphasizes developing lesson plans for Emergent Bilingual Connectors and meeting language needs.

The successful candidate will maintain documentation in Ellevation, screen and assess students, and engage in home/school communications, coaching, and data-driven instructional practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education required.
• Two years of teaching experience, preferably with Emergent Bilingual learners.
• Bi-lingual proficiency required.
• Knowledge of language acquisition theory and effective instructional practices.

Responsabilités

• Plan lessons and provide resources for Emergent Bilingual instruction.
• Screen and assess Emergent Bilingual students as required.
• Maintain Emergent Bilingual files in Ellevation.
• Communicate with home/school/parents as needed.
• Participate in Emergent Bilingual Coaching training and apply new learning.
• Maintain records and participate in meetings.
