Qualifications

• Hold a State of Illinois Professional Educator License with required endorsements.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with schools and communities.
• Fluency in the language of the target population as well as in English.
• Understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity.
• Familiarity with Bilingual and ESL coursework and curricula.
• Competence in best-practice teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Implement the bilingual education program in the classroom according to state guidelines.
• Instruct students in their native language and in English.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small-group instruction.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and translate plans into learning experiences.
• Evaluate student growth, maintain records, and prepare required reports.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and district programs.
• Collaborate with principal and staff to enhance the instructional program.
• Attend meetings and participate in curriculum development and professional development.
