Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Valid Bilingual certification.
• Teaching certification in multiple areas preferred.
• Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Accommodate differences in student learning styles in planning.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials for diverse learners.
• Conduct ongoing assessment to inform instruction with varied assessment methods.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers and coordinate tasks.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Establish and maintain communication with parents and staff.
