ABOUT WAYSIDE SCHOOLS: Wayside Schools is an open-enrollment, tuition-free Pre-K3-12th grade public charter school network serving 2,200 scholars across three South Austin campuses with a rigorous International Baccalaureate education. Since 2012, Wayside schools have empowered historically underserved scholars by providing instructional experiences, academic skills, and social-emotional competencies to help them succeed in college and beyond, fostering community impact and empowerment.
Job Goal: The Multi-Classroom Teacher Leader (MCL) extends instructional planning and delivery expertise across multiple classrooms, enabling more scholars to benefit from high-quality teaching. This is an entry-level leadership position. The MCL can develop into a campus leader or remain an expert teacher leader, regardless of leadership ambitions. The position includes leadership coaching to support the development of the Teacher Fellow.
The MCL is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instruction that promotes the educational, social, and physical development of students, requiring creativity, adaptive thinking, and sensitivity to diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and learning styles.
The MCL also supervises a Teacher Fellow, guiding their instructional development, supported by instructional coaches who focus on classroom management skills.

Skill Requirements:
Ability to apply current educational theories, methodologies, and knowledge of laws affecting students is essential. Also required are strong understanding of social-emotional development, communication skills, and organizational abilities.
Performance Responsibilities:
Additional duties include lesson planning, classroom management, record keeping, parent communication, professional development, administrative tasks, and behavior monitoring. The MCL also leads the Teacher Fellow and performs other duties as assigned.
