Job summary

FITS LLC is seeking a Health & Safety professional to join our environmental team in Puerto Rico. You will integrate environmental responsibilities into line management and ensure procedures meet local, national, and international standards.

You will coordinate environmental risk assessments, supervise waste management, and communicate issues to contractors and communities. A bachelor’s degree, bilingual ability, and OSHA 30-hour certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of five years exposure in industrial and construction projects within the regulated industry.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Good organizational and problem solving skills.
• 30hrs OSHA Certification (General Industry or Construction).
• Experience in construction projects within the regulated industry; daily permit, reporting, JHA, rigging plan, toolbox meetings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure environmental issues are part of line management responsibilities and objectives.
• Ensure workplace procedures comply with local environmental regulations and international standards; keep them updated.
• Assist the operational line.
• Supervise environmental objectives.
• Communicate environmental issues to contractors, subcontractors, and communities.
• Identify environmental risks in each area and work center.
• Maintain plans, programs and procedures as per environmental standard.
• Verify compliance with preventive measures, mitigation and restoration in environmental authorization.
• Ensure implementation and monitoring of waste management systems in every operation and work center, including contractors.
