Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a qualified bilingual educator to support English Language learners across schools. You will deliver instruction in Spanish and English, develop lesson plans, and adapt materials to meet diverse student needs.

You will collaborate with general education staff, assess student progress, administer tests, and communicate with families while promoting bilingualism and biculturalism as assets in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional principles, theories and testing methods.
• Knowledge of speech development and therapy planning.
• Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable education laws.
• Ability to use computer networks and software applications.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation and professional growth.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in native language and English focusing on bilingualism.
• Develop lesson plans and adapt curriculum to student needs.
• Collaborate with general education staff to provide accommodations.
• Assess student learning and modify instruction accordingly.
• Administer group standardized tests per protocols.
• Maintain student records and communicate with families.
• Participate in faculty and multilingual department meetings.
• Support EL students to reach their potential.
