Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience.
• Dispatcher or peace officer experience is preferred.
• Good computer skills are required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve warrants and make arrests.
• Patrol assigned area by vehicle to deter crime.
• Issue traffic citations and direct traffic; assist others.
• Investigate crimes and accidents; assist authorities.
• Record activities and prepare reports on crimes and investigations.
• Question witnesses and suspects; take statements.
• Collect evidence, photograph, fingerprint; guard and transport prisoners.
• Transport and book prisoners.
• Serve as substitute dispatcher or bailiff when needed.
• Train new deputies and reserves.
• Respond to emergency calls and routine complaints.
• Assist on escorts and traffic control as needed.
