Job summary

Friends Outside seeks a Family Liaison Services Specialist to support incarcerated individuals and their families within a California correctional facility. You will conduct face-to-face interviews, provide counseling, and facilitate communication between inmates and relatives.

The role emphasizes outreach, reentry support, and coordination with staff to promote family unity, reduce recidivism, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or two cumulative years of documented experience demonstrating a work history in social services or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face interviews with incarcerated individuals requesting services.
• Assist in increasing communication and visits between incarcerated individuals and their families.
• Facilitate or provide counseling, reentry, employment, or educational services for incarcerated individuals.
• Write monthly reports and submit copies to CRM and Contract Analyst.
