Hazleton Area School District in Hazleton, Pennsylvania seeks a Bilingual Community Liaison to bridge communication between the district and bilingual families. The role interprets for school personnel and families at events, assists with translations of forms and newsletters, and supports students with testing when needed.

The position is 12-month, 8 hours daily, reporting to the Supervisor of English Language Learners; starting immediately, with salary per HAESPA agreement.

Competenze

• Bilingual in Spanish (speaking and writing).
• High school diploma required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; able to navigate the Internet.
• Strong English and Spanish written and spoken communication.

Mansioni

• Assist parents in locating information and resources to support student achievement.
• Conduct phone calls in Spanish to families and assist staff with school matters.
• Provide interpretation at school events and aid with registration / testing processes.
• Translate forms and newsletters for assigned schools and maintain confidentiality.
