Job summary

Acacia Network in New York City is seeking a Cook to assist the Food Services Team with meal preparation, adherence to daily menus, proper portioning, and presentation as guided by the Registered Dietician Nutritionist.

You will ensure compliance with health and fire regulations, monitor inventory, and maintain accurate sanitation records while supporting friendly service to residents at the residential facility.

Qualifications

• Must be formally trained in food service or culinary arts or have equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field; social/public service sector a plus.
• Must have active Food Protection Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, serve, and clean up meals for residents.
• Monitor inventory and usage as directed by supervisor.
• Follow menus and portion sizes developed by the Registered Dietician Nutritionist.
• Ensure compliance with health and fire regulations.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of workspace.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying contents.
• Report and resolve any food quality or service concerns.
