Job summary

Impacto Media is seeking a bilingual Community Impact & Solutions Reporter on-site in Philadelphia, working under Esperanza’s multi-service campus leadership. The reporter will develop in-depth, solutions-focused stories reflecting Latino communities, collaborating with residents, leaders, and editors to produce high-impact content.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong written and verbal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in multimedia journalism and fact-checking.
• Experience conducting interviews, developing sources, researching complex issues.
• Ability to monitor local, national, and international news relevant to Philadelphia’s Latino communities.

Responsibilities

• Research, report, write community-focused news articles, features, profiles, and investigative pieces.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with residents, leaders, and organizations.
• Attend community events and meetings to maintain a presence.
• Identify hyperlocal issues and develop in-depth stories addressing inequities and opportunities.
• Translate complex information into clear, accessible pieces for diverse audiences.
