Job summary

The City of Norwalk is seeking a part-time Outreach and Education Assistant to engage community members on health topics, connect them with Health Department programs, and promote health equity in Norwalk.

You will participate in health fairs, information tables, and presentations, coordinate with partners, collect data, and provide information and referral services in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one year of administrative and/or outreach experience.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for the experience requirement.
• Bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole and bicultural skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts community outreach activities at health fairs and events.
• Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion programs.
• Provides information and referral services and coordinates with partners to support health services access.
