Job description

Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is Connecticut’s first fully Joint Commission accredited Behavioral Health Home and is a SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Visit cmhacc.org to learn more.

CMHA is looking to hire a full-time 40 hours per week Clinician. This position will be in New Britain, CT. (Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm).

Compensation: $57k minimum to $87k maximum per year.

Starting salary will be determined based on relevant years of experience.

Clinician I are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on.

Clinician II are eligible for a $7,000 sign-on.

Sign-on will be paid in 2 installments, after 6 months of employment and 1 year of employment.

Position Summary: Provides direct clinical services to individuals in the community; including but not limited to evaluation/assessment; home & community-based services; outreach; case and care management; individual and family therapy and crisis intervention. Collaborates with team members in coordination with other agencies and community service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains recovery-oriented therapeutic relationships with individuals through ongoing assessment, individual and group therapy, both onsite and in the community.
  • Maintains all training and certifications as required by program model.
  • Collaborates with client, team, and natural supports to develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Manages emergency and crisis situations both on-site and in the community.
  • Acts in accordance with mandated reporting laws.
  • Completes assessment tools, integrates pertinent information to establish diagnoses, and analyzes data to create clinical formulation within designated timeframe.
  • Completes documentation within designated timeframes as established by CMHA and external regulatory agencies.
  • Acts in accordance with program and agency regulatory bodies, including but not limited to: state, federal, Joint Commission, DCF, and DMHAS.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or alcohol and drug counseling).
  • Clinician I must be license eligible.
  • Clinician II must have a CT license as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Ph.D.
  • Valid DMV License.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
