Job summary

The Village for Families and Children seeks licensed-eligible clinicians to provide direct therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in office, school, home, and community settings.

Licensed-eligible clinicians receive ongoing supervision and are expected to pursue licensure while benefiting from competitive salaries, a sign-on bonus, loan repayment options, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization in the Greater Hartford area.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
• LMSW or license-eligible credential required.
• Minimum three years of post-graduate clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and school-based therapy.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and engagement activities.
• Develop DSM-5 diagnoses in consultation with supervisors and psychiatric staff when appropriate.
• Create, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment interventions.
• Provide parent skills training, crisis intervention, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate discharge planning and community referrals.
• Deliver case management and advocacy services.

Position Summary

The Clinician provides direct therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in office, school, home, and community-based settings. Services are designed to address a wide range of clinical and behavioral health needs while supporting family stability and child well-being.

Licensed-eligible clinicians receive ongoing supervision from licensed professionals and are expected to pursue and obtain independent licensure as a condition of continued professional growth and employment with The Village.

What You'll Do

Clinical Services

• Provide individual, family, and school-based therapy.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and engagement activities.
• Develop DSM-5 diagnoses in consultation with supervisors and psychiatric staff when appropriate.
• Create, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment interventions.
• Provide parent skills training, crisis intervention, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate discharge planning and community referrals.
• Deliver case management and advocacy services.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work collaboratively with DCF, schools, primary care providers, and community partners.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Complete all required clinical documentation in accordance with licensing, accreditation, HIPAA, Medicaid, DCF, and agency standards.
• Maintain productivity expectations and client contact targets.
• Participate in peer consultation, quality assurance reviews, clinical rounds, and supervision.

Professional Development

• Participate in weekly individual and group supervision.
• Complete training and implementation of evidence-based treatment models.
• Partner with supervisors to identify professional growth opportunities.
• Participate in agency committees, task forces, special projects, and community partnerships.

Experience and Skills

Education Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent clinical graduate degree required.
• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another license-eligible behavioral health discipline.
• LMSW or equivalent license-eligible credential required.
• Minimum of three years of post-graduate clinical experience preferred.

• Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy.
• Knowledge of mental health systems, child welfare systems, and community resources.
• Experience working with culturally diverse populations across a broad age range.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches.
